Antinomy Studio Amsterdam created an original and aesthetically pleasing website for CL9UD. CL9UD is a conceptual collective based in Monaco covering various creative areas - from fashion and art to music and event management. The objective of launching this new digital platform: raising awareness of the CL9UD concept - showcasing their vision, and selling CL9UD merchandise, including clothing and accessories.
CL9UD's objective
To create and establish a community of like-minded people driven by fashion, art and music.
Antinomy's objective
Antinomy did not just want to create a digital storefront selling merchandise only, but a cohesive digital experience that truly reflects CL9UD's philosophy. Facilitating them to communicate with their followers and create a CL9UD community.
The studio ensured that imagery, music and video speak for themselves. Interactive, well-crafted and visually strong storytelling. With fun elements like an intro text that strings along to the movement of your mouse and an interactive music player on the shop pages. Making the journey surprising and personalised to each user's taste.
Behind the scenes - collaboration and team
CL9UD approached Antinomy with an open mind regarding the design. Making the collaboration between studio and client seamless and easy-going. CL9UD supplied the studio with a series of photos with a distinct style. It also helped that they had a clear vision of what they wanted to showcase. Together Antinomy and CL9UD created a website concept that truly resonates their identity.
Antinomy's team consisted of one designer and two developers. This lean team setup allowed them to iterate fast on animations and the overall feeling of the website.
Behind the scenes - technology
The website’s frontend is built using the Nuxt.js framework. For content management, Antinomy used Dato - a cloud-based headless CMS , and for the e-commerce backend, they chose Shopify.
To allow for full creative control, Antinomy employed Shopify headless mode - not using one of Shopify's native themes. Giving them greater flexibility in terms of animations and website structure. This tech stack facilitated the integration of additional components, such as a music player, a floating menu and a unique product list categorised by colour.
For the CL9UD team, updating the website content and managing orders on Shopify is now a breeze. Antinomy always strive to provide tools that give their clients the freedom to expand their digital platform effortlessly. Ensuring that the client can update content and adapt the website without constantly requiring further updates.
The design is visually appealing with exciting subtle interactive details: it is beautifully crafted. Aurelija Mockevičiūtė - Dutch Digital Design curator & visual designer at Clever Franke
