Dutch game designer Adriaan de Jongh first saw the amazing illustrations by Sylvain Tegroeg at his graduation expo. He jokingly suggested making a game together. Hidden Folks is the result! A 'where is Wally'-alike hidden object game. With raving reviews globally.
Search for hidden folks in hand-drawn, interactive, miniature landscapes. From festivals and factories to suburbs and snow landscapes. A strip of targets shows you what to look for. Tap a target for a hint, and find enough to unlock the next area.
Fantastically interactive: clicking on almost everything gets a response. Doors opening, trees rustling, plants growing, snakes hissing. Every sound effect is made by the developer's own mouth, adding to the game's silly but totally engaging atmosphere.
But actions speak louder than any of these words. Try for yourself: unfurl tent flaps, cut through bushes, slam doors, and poke some crocodiles!
Available on Steam (Windows, Mac, and Linux), the App Store (iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV), Google Play (Android), or on Nintendo Switch.
Further credits to: Céline Veltman for additional level design, Mirthe Venbrux for the trailers, Martin Kvale for additional sound design, Bram van Dijk for writing, and Aran Koning for additional programming.
Impressive project! Fun to explore. An immense amount of digital work must have gone into it. But somehow it doesn't feel very digital. Amazing.
