The iconic fashion brand Manolo Blahnik celebrates its 50th anniversary - their golden year - with a virtual museum created by Dutch independent digital design studio Rōnin Amsterdam. ‘A New Way of Walking’ - the Manolo Blahnik Archives - is a digital journey that shows creations from Mr. Blahník’s wide-ranging career.
The main goal of the brand was to create an immersive experience - accessible to everyone. The guided tour presents the new collection and never-before-seen sketches in an exciting manner. Just as inviting and captivating as a physical exhibition. The exhibition currently consists of five different rooms - The Palette, The 70s, Friendships, The Gold Room and Our Family - and will be expanded in the near future.
The campaign got international exposure on influential fashion platforms like Vogue, Wallpaper* and Harper's Bazaar.
Kristina Blahník, CEO, Manolo Blahnik: 'It’s a dream come true to open the doors to our archives. As the legacy of Manolo Blahnik continues to evolve, the experience will continue to develop and tell its story. This is only the beginning of a very exciting journey. One we hope will be explored and enjoyed by our loyal followers for years to come.'
With over 350,000 page views and counting, the website is delivering on Manolo Blahník's dream: 'I want this to be a space where others can learn, and feel inspired to create.'
Super-immersive way to tell this story. Great to also have options for users with accessibility issues: often ignored in projects like this.
