Shadow and Bone
Netflix Beyond the Fold by
For the launch of Netflix’s fantasy adaptation Shadow and Bone, Dutch digital production company Media.Monks created an amazing interactive virtual experience. Welcoming fans into the world of Grishaverse. The site expands on the series’ backstory, and lets viewers peek beyond the fabled Shadow Fold as they explore 3D replicas of key locations.
Alongside an abundance of Shadow and Bone trivia, Beyond the Fold captivates fans with a variety of games and quizzes. Created in-house - from concept and content to design and development. The experience extends far beyond the series’ final credits, engaging fans long after they’ve finished the first season
Media.Monks managed to deliver a digital experience that is hitting just the right note for the dedicated Shadow and Bone fandom. For lovers of the book series, they had to make sure that the visual representation of the Grishaverse didn’t disappoint. Using lots of visual references, as well as words written in Ravkan - the series' imaginary language.
In short, Media.Monks took this virtual experience to the next level, ensuring absolute immersion. Creating the perfect mood to reflect the Netflix show.
A hugely entertaining experience. The layouts, micro-interactions, immersive sound design and navigation patterns are truly engaging, inviting you to explore further.
